Alec Baldwin hinted that he might play President Donald Trump at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner after Trump announced he wouldn’t attend.
During “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Wednesday night, the 58-year-old actor told the host that many performers are “lobbying to play” the president and suggested he is one of the them. “There are people who now…it is interesting now that he’s not going to the White House correspondents’ dinner, there are people who are lobbying to play Trump at the White House correspondents’ dinner,” Baldwin said. “Well, I wouldn’t say I’m not lobbying,” he responded when Kimmel asked if he was one of them. “But people are saying ‘would you do it?’ And there’s a couple of guys on the internet who are like ‘no, please I’m the only man who should play Trump.'”
“And they are really convinced,” he added. “There is a lot of Trump competition. This one guy is lobbying to be Trump.”
Kimmel told Baldwin, “it should be whoever the president hates seeing the most, and that’s undoubtedly you.”
“Wouldn’t you love being in the room with him watching you do him and how mad that must make him?” the host added.
