Shocking Cause Of Death Revealed For Late Singer George Michael
English singer-songwriter George Michael who rose to fame with the 80s band Wham! passed away on Christmas day, but it was just now revealed the pop star died due to natural causes.
The “Freedom” singer had previously battled with heroin addiction, which many assumed was related to his death at such a young age. In a statement from the Senior Coroner at Oxfordshire, it was confirmed that Michael died of natural causes of “Dilated Cardiomyopathy with Myocarditis and Fatty Liver.
“The investigation is being discontinued and there is no need for an inquest or any further enquires,” the statement read. “No further updates will be provided and the family requests the media and public respect their privacy.”
Results from the 53-year-old’s original autopsy came back inconclusive at which point the Thames Valley Police said they would continue the investigation of Michael’s death, E! News reports. Police did not expect any foul play in relation to the singer’s passing, but conducted the investigation and subsequently provided a file for the Oxfordshire Coroner to review.
The Wham! singer was found dead by his boyfriend where he reportedly passed away peacefully at his home.
