The Facebook founder has embarked on a “year of travel” to visit each of the 50 states to learn about different communities. While in North Carolina, Zuckerberg decided to have a chat with one of NASCAR’s most popular drivers to learn about the community of the sport.

Afterwards, he took a ride around the track with Earnhardt Jr., and the No. 88 Chevrolet driver did not take it easy on him.

Beforehand, Zuckerberg said it would be “either fun or terrifying, depending on how it goes,” and after watching the video it appears that it was both.

Appearing a little nervous in the passenger seat, Zuckerberg said “so we’re going to start slow and ease our way into it here.”

“Yeah, we should,” Earnhardt responded before taking off on the track.

“Holy shit,” Zuckerberg said a few seconds into the drive. “All right, we’re a little close to the wall,” he added.

Zuckerberg continued to comment on what was happening, although he admitted he couldn’t hear himself over the roar of the engine.

“If this is all we get to do in Charlotte, that will be enough,” Zuckerberg said at the end of the ride. “What an amazing experience.”

Afterwards, Zuckerberg took a few laps of his own, while Earnhardt coached.
