FLASHBACK: Don Rickles Roasts Ronald Reagan At Inaugural Ball

Don Rickles died of kidney failure at his Los Angeles home on Thursday at the age of 90, his publicist confirmed.

The legendary comedian was known for his insult comedy that he delivered to celebrities and political figures alike. A performance he called one of the highlights of his career was when he performed on stage at Ronald Reagan’s second inaugural ball, where he obviously didn’t hold back. (RELATED: The Celebrity Tributes To Don Rickles Are Pouring In After His Death)


“It’s a big treat for me to fly all the way from California to be here for this kind of money,” Rickles told Reagan. (RELATED: Legendary Comic Don Rickles Died At Age 90)

“I make fun of the president, why not I make fun of everybody, that’s America,” he added. “Laugh. Is this too fast Ronnie?”

During the five-minute video, Rickles goes after everyone including first lady Nancy Reagan, Vice President George Bush and Secretary of State George Schultz.
