Rapper Pitbull appeared alongside Betsy DeVos at his charter school in Miami Florida on Thursday.

The secretary of education made a stop in south Florida to see the 36-year-old rapper — whose real name is Armando Perez — at his charter school, the Sports Leadership and Management Academy, and speak to students, according to The Hill. He opened the school in 2013 in the Little Havana neighborhood he grew up in as a child. (RELATED: Rapper Pitbull Brings Club-Rap, Smooth Style To National Charter School Conference)

The visit did not include Pitbull’s usual stage show involving scantily clad women twerking around him while he raps. Instead he and Devos spoke to students at the school.

During her stop in the state, DeVos also visited other education institutions including Florida International University and CARE, which stands for Christian Academy for Reaching Excellence.

“Every kid deserves a great education and schools like CARE Elem. in Miami are making that possible for kids who may have otherwise struggled,” DeVos tweeted after her visit, adding later about the benefits of the school.

DeVos is scheduled to stop by Royal Palm Elementary School and another college in Miami-Dade on Friday.
