Tim Tebow is off to an impressive start with his new minor league team. In his first at-bat during his debut with the Columbia Fireflies, Tebow hit a home run deep into left-center field — bringing in two other runners home with him.

The former Florida Gator quarterback crushed the pitch sending the ball all the way out to the railing at the top of the fence in left-center. At first, Tebow thought his hit only got him to second base before the umpire signaled a home run and the crowd went wild.

Here’s another shot at it from the fans’ view:

The former Heisman Trophy winner has had an interesting journey since deciding to move on from his faded career in the NFL to pursue another in professional baseball.

Tebow has bounced around a number of New York Mets teams during the club’s spring training before eventually landing on the roster of their Class A Columbia squad. Clearly the Firefly fans are already happy to have him. We’ll just have to wait and see whether or not his success continues.
