Tom Brady Wishes Isaiah Thomas And The Celtics Luck In Game Three
Tom Brady offered some words of encouragement to the Boston Celtics star point guard Isaiah Thomas ahead of their game three matchup against the Chicago Bulls in the NBA playoffs.
The day before the Celtics’ first playoff game, Thomas’ younger sister Chyna was killed in a car accident. Despite suffering a pain Thomas said was “impossible to put into words,” the young point guard played in both game 1 and 2 of the series in Boston. The Celtics lost both home games. As the Boston basketball team prepares to face Chicago on their home floor, trailing zero games to two, another Boston-based athlete reached out to offer some encouragement to the young star.
“It’s how you come back,” the New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady said in an Instagram post. “Good luck tonight. We all have your back! #YourTurn.”
Brady and Thomas became friends when the quarterback joined the basketball team in an attempt to recruit Kevin Durant. Ever since then, the two kept in regular contact and it seems that Brady felt he needed to show his support for Thomas as he deals with the tragic death of his sister.
Back when Brady led the Patriots in a historic comeback victory against the Atlanta Falcons in February, Thomas sent the New England star a congratulatory text. Brady responded by saying “It’s your turn next.”
It appears that Brady is still looking to Thomas to deliver, but wants him to know that the entire city is behind him and feel what he’s going through.
