Tom Hardy Pulls A Citizen’s Arrest After Chasing Down A Thief In London
Tom Hardy has developed a reputation as one of the most badass actors in Hollywood, and apparently he’s not someone to mess with on the streets either.
The “Taboo” star was nearby when a thief wrecked a stolen moped into a car and fled the scene on foot in South West London. Hardy immediately took off in pursuit of the crook in a dramatic Hollywood-style chase scene, according to The Sun.
“The Revenant” actor chased the thief through gardens and across a building site and vaulted over walls before catching the crook and announcing “I caught the c**t,” a witness told The Sun. When Hardy finally caught the thief he grabbed him by the neck, patted him down for concealed weapons and made a citizen’s arrest before the cops arrived.
There were two boys on the stolen moped when they wrecked it into a $64,000 Mercedes on Sunday afternoon in Richmond, South West London. Hardy, who lives nearby, happened to be walking by when the incident occurred. Both suspects were injured in the crash, but only one fled the scene, leading to Hardy’s heroic chase.
“It was mental–like he’d switched to superhero mode in an action movie,” one witness said of Hardy.
“Tom must have been walking down the road,” the witness explained. “He went off like a shot in pursuit and looked furious. If the kid had been dumb enough to resist, I reckon Tom would have given him a good hiding.”
The two suspects were arrested on suspicion of theft and taking a vehicle without consent, The Sun reports. A representative for “The Dark Knight Rises” star declined to comment on the matter.
