On Wednesday the team visited Vatican City to attend Pope Francis’ address in St. Peter’s square. The players sat in the crowd during the Pope’s address, but Harbaugh and his wife Sarah sat to the left of the main stage in front of St. Peter’s Basilica. After the address, Harbaugh waited among several other observers seated close to the stage to meet the Pope. When the coach finally got his opportunity to meet Pope Francis, he presented him with a pair of Jordan Brand shoes and a Michigan football helmet.

The Pope exchanged a few words with Harbaugh and his wife and handed the gift off to someone next to him before going on to greet others in attendance.
This trip just keeps getting better and better by the day.
