Donald Trump has maintained a relatively steady approval rating as he nears his 100th day in office.

According to the results of the latest poll conducted by CBS News, 41 percent of voters approve of the job the president has done in office so far. Though he has a lower approval rating at this point than most of his predecessors did, his base is still strong. 81 percent of Republicans said they are “mainly excited or optimistic” about Trump’s presidency.

That same poll — which surveyed 1,214 adults nationwide — found that although most independent voters don’t approve of Trump’s job performance so far, 69 percent said they need more time to properly evaluate it.

The CBS News poll had almost exactly the same findings as the latest one from the Washington Post, which found that at least ninety-six percent of Trump supporters still believe voting for him was the right thing to do.

Only two percent regret voting for him. (RELATED: Washington Post Poll Shows If The Election Were Held Today, Trump Would Still Beat Clinton)
