Gwen Stefani suffered a ruptured eardrum during her flight from Los Angeles to Las Vegas last week, but is now “getting better,” according to boyfriend Blake Shelton.

“Something like that is just slow, when you pop-blow your eardrum out, I don’t even know how that happens,” the country star told Entertainment Tonight. “But, she says she can hear now…she’s tough.”

The injury is especially difficult for singers like Stefani because it limits their ability to hear themselves sing. The 47-year-old artist had to cancel an appearance for the 21st Keep Memory Alive Power of Love Gala because the rupture left her unable to perform, Fox News reports.

However, it sounds as if she’s recovered enough to sing again already. Shelton confirmed that his girlfriend and fellow coach on “The Voice” would be back to singing this week for the hit reality competition show.
