Lena Dunham Ended Up In The Emergency Room After The Met Gala Monday Night
Lena Dunham was rushed straight to the emergency room after attending the Met Gala in New York City on Monday night due to an urgent “medical issue.”
Dunham wasn’t in for long and was released from the hospital after going through a “series of tests,” according to Page Six.
The “Girls” creator suffers from endometriosis, an illness that occurs when tissue grows outside the uterus, and she has been very open with her fans about the chronic infection. A source close to Dunham revealed that her visit to the ER on Monday was related to her battle with the disorder, Page Six reports.
After undergoing a fifth surgical procedure last month, she told her fans that she was free of endometriosis.
“My surgery went off without a hitch,” she wrote. “There was no endometriosis left. Between my surgeries and hormonal intervention, I was disease-free. That doesn’t mean it can never return, but for now, once my sutures have been removed and my bruises have changed. … I will be healthy.”
