Jay Cutler Entertaining A Career Away From The Field
Jay Cutler hasn’t officially given up on his football career just yet, but it seems that he’s been entertaining some other options since the Chicago Bears cut him from their roster in early March.
Cutler spoke with multiple teams after being released and before the NFL draft came around, but nothing has come to fruition on the football front for the free agent. Multiple reports are claiming that Cutler is starting to look for options off the field now.
The former gunslinger is apparently being considered as John Lynch’s replacement on Fox. Lynch left the broadcast team to take the position of general manager of the San Francisco 49ers earlier this offseason. The network has at least showed interest in Cutler to fill the position, which he reportedly flew to Los Angeles to audition for last week.
The 34-year-old quarterback spent eight seasons with the Bears during which he claimed a number of passing records for the franchise, but only led the team to one playoff appearance. Cutler was in and out of the starting quarterback role during his time with Chicago — sometimes due to injury and otherwise due to poor play.
