Celebrities React To Shocking News Of Chris Cornell’s Death

Celebrity tributes continue to pour in Thursday after news broke of the death of Chris Cornell at the age of 52. Elton John, for one, called Cornell a “great singer, songwriter and the loveliest man.”

The lead singer of grunge bands Soundgarden and Audioslave was found unresponsive in the bathroom of the MGM Grand Hotel in Detroit on Wednesday. Police are investigating the death as an apparent suicide. (RELATED: Chris Cornell Dead At Age 52 After Apparent Suicide)

“Shocked and saddened by the sudden death of @chriscornell. A great singer, songwriter and the loveliest man,” Elton John tweeted.

“I AM SO SADDENED BY CHRIS CORNELL PASSING. @soundgarden
