‘Deadliest Catch’ Captain Sig Hansen Arrested For Assault
“Deadliest Catch” captain Sig Hansen was arrested for assault and property damage after allegedly spitting on an Uber driver and denting his car.
The TV star and his family were riding in an Uber in the Seattle area on Thursday morning when the app canceled their ride. The Hansens offered the driver $100 to continue the trip, but he refused to do so as it’s against Uber policy, TMZ reports.
Hansen lost his cool and allegedly spit on the driver before exiting the car and kicking it. The driver then left the scene and called the police.
When the officers arrived they discovered a dent to the car and several drops of spit on the back of the driver’s seat headrest, according to TMZ.
The police then went to Hansen’s home where they found him “obviously intoxicated.” The “Deadliest Catch” captain initially denied the claims and tried to go back inside at which point the officers grabbed him and put him in handcuffs.
Hansen was taken to King County Jail for booking and will be released on $2,000 bail, TMZ reported. The television star has also been kicked off Uber and can no longer use the app.
