The 63-year-old actor played Bush’s predecessor President Bill Clinton in “The Special Relationship,” but will now play the 43rd president who was heavily criticized for his handling of the 2005 hurricane, Entertainment Weekly reports.

“Katrina” is one of three “American Crime Story” editions that are currently in the works. One will focus on the 1997 murder of fashion designer Gianni Versace, while another will follow the Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky scandal through the lens of Jeffery Toobin’s book, “A Vast Conspiracy: The Real Sex Scandal That Nearly Brought Down A President.”

Quaid will co-star in the drama series with Matthew Broderick, who will play Federal Emergency Management Agency Director Michael D. Brown, who led the government’s response to the natural disaster.

The latest “American Crime Story” series, “The People v. O.J. Simpson”¬†won two Golden Globe awards last year.
