“I was told I was getting equal pay and I believed them, and I found out recently that it’s not true…so that’s something to investigate,” Wright explained. “Claire (Wright) and Francis (Spacey) are equivalent as far as their power, their union and the plot. I may not have as many scenes or words as Francis, but Claire doesn’t need to verbalize as much.”
“Francis (Spacey) is an orator, a poet, a demonstrator,” she added. “Claire is an [ego] that sits in the back and directs him, but they are partners on the same plane.”
According to a report in Huffington Post, in 2014 Spacey received $500,000 per episode. Wright earned $5.5 million from 2014-2015, which averages out to $420,000 an episode.
“House of Cards” season 5 is due out May 30th on Netflix.
