The defensive tackle died alone in Orlando on Tuesday, but his cause of death is not yet known. The Orlando Police Department is investigating Kennedy’s death. So far “there is nothing suspicious to report,” police told ESPN.

Kennedy was a force to be reckoned with from the time he entered the NFL in 1990 to the year he retired in 2000.

The defensive tackle from the University of Miami’s 1989 national championship team was drafted as third overall pick in the 1990 NFL draft by the Seattle Seahawks. He would go on to spend his entire 11 years in the league with the team and have a career worthy of having his jersey retired and earning a place in the Seahawks Ring of Honor.

The Seahawks standout also appeared in eight Pro Bowls and was voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2012.
