Legendary NFL Quarterback Takes Shot At Nick Saban’s Alabama Salary
Legendary NFL quarterback Terry Bradshaw isn’t apparently a big fan of how much money Alabama is paying head football coach Nick Saban.
Bradshaw lamented Saban’s contract extension during a recent appearance on the Paul Finebaum Show.
“What’s he making, $12 million now? That is the entire athletic budget at Louisiana Tech. The entire budget. That’s shameful. Shameful,” the Pittsburgh Steelers’ legend said.
He didn’t stop with just a shot at Saban’s salary. He also went after his personality.
“If he has the personality of Steve Spurrier, then I would like him. Spurrier, now you’re talking about a great coach. That’s a great coach, Steve Spurrier, not Saban. Saban who hates people. Man doesn’t even like people. Twelve million; think about it? I could use a little bit of that money to kind of help pay off my trailer house,” Bradshaw added on the Paul Finebaum Show. Saban is set to earn $11 million for the upcoming season, and then his salary will dip down to just north of seven million for the rest of his contract.
Michigan head football coach Jim Harbaugh’s contract is currently the biggest contract in college football over the life of the agreement at nine million dollars a year. Harbaugh receives seven million dollars in base salary, plus an extra two million in life insurance premium paid out by the school.
