Lamar Odom’s Daughter Says Khloe Kardashian Was ‘Toxic’ For Her Addict Father

Several of Khloé Kardashian’s exes have openly spoken about their regrets of dating the reality television star,  and now Lamar Odom’s daughter is piling on.

Destiny Odom wasn’t exactly thrilled when her father married Kardashian in 2009, but she tried to be a good sport about it for his sake. Obviously, it didn’t end up working out in the end.

“I feel like we tried,” Destiny told People. “I tried for my dad. I wouldn’t say it was a matter of my dad loving Khloé more than me. I think that my dad has an addictive personality, so he was addicted to the attention he got with Khloé more than me. It was a very toxic relationship.”

The fact that Lamar and Khloé’s relationship played out on two separate reality TV shows only made it harder for Destiny.

“The bullying started when he married Khloé,” Destiny told People. “There were regular snide comments at school. And when his addiction became public, then it became a social media thing. Even people that I thought were my friends were saying stuff on social media. It was humiliating.”

Lamar’s divorce from the reality star and the infamous near-death drug overdose that landed him in rehab also played out in the public eye. Odom has since been down a bumpy road to recovery and recently returned to rehab in December.

“I basically gave him the ultimatum that it was rehab or me not speaking to him anymore,” Destiny said. “I think that hit him really hard.”

Although the 18-year-old still doesn’t see her father on a regular basis, she said their relationship is improving and they still talk.

“Two years ago he was completely in denial about using drugs,” she said. “Now he’s a lot more open and he’s a lot more apologetic. I feel like we’re trying to get out communication going, but it’s definitely one step at a time.”
