The Washington Nationals are taking a play out of the Redskins draft book.

The Nationals selected Jake Cousins, the cousin of Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins, on Wednesday in the 20th round of the MLB draft.

Kirk was proud to announce that his younger cousin Jake is going to be joining him in playing for a Washington sports team and congratulated him on Twitter.

“Congrats to my cousin, Jake, being drafted by the Washington Nationals today! There’s room for another Cousins in DC!”

The younger of the two cousins played his college ball at Penn where he was the ace pitcher and a unanimous First-Team All-Ivy League selection in 2017, CSN Mid-Atlantic.

The older of the two cousins has established himself as one of the prominent sports figures in the nation’s capitol as the leader of the Washington football team. The Redskins quarterback recently enjoyed an opportunity to hit the golf course with President Trump, which he called a “great experience.”

Perhaps his younger cousin will make a career for himself on the Nationals and will one day get an invite of his own from the president.
