Clay Travis Has Bold Theory About Conor McGregor’s Fight With Floyd Mayweather
Fox Sports radio host and “Outkick the Coverage” found Clay Travis thinks Floyd Mayweather might be incentivized to take a dive against Conor McGregor.
“If his pure interest is taking as much money as he can then taking a dive against Conor McGregor in the first fight would then guarantee him a second fight, where he can win, which would then guarantee him a third fight, which would be the ‘rubber match,’ which he could win again. Then he would finish 51-1, but he probably makes $500 million to finish off his career,” Travis told his Thursday morning show on his radio show.
The fight was finalized Wednesday night for Aug. 26 in Las Vegas after months of hype and debate about whether or not Mayweather would come out of retirement to fight McGregor.
The Irish-born UFC superstar also has plenty of incentive to fight Mayweather, despite the fact he’s not a traditional bouncer.
According to ESPN reporter Darren Rovell, he could make more than $100 million for the fight, which is substantially more than UFC fights pay.
4 years ago, Conor McGregor picked up a welfare check of $235.
He’ll likely walk away with $100,000,000+ from Mayweather fight.
