Watch The Intense New Trailer For Film About The 1967 Detroit Riot

A new intense trailer has been released for the upcoming film “Detroit.”

The plot of the film, according to IMDB, is, “A police raid in Detroit in 1967 results in one of the largest and most intense riots in United States history, leading to the federalization of the Michigan National Guard and the involvement of two Airborne Divisons of the United States Army.”

A star cast has been compiled for the film, and it includes John Krasinski, John Boyega and Anthony Mackie. (SLIDESHOWCelebrate The Second Amendment With These Gorgeous Gun-Loving Women)

The new trailer paints a dark and horrifying picture of violence and death as the city burns to the ground.

Boyega’s character can be heard saying several times at the end of the trailer, which is just over two minutes long, “I need you to survive the night.”

The film is directed by Kathryn Bigelow who also made hit films such as “Point Break,” “Zero Dark Thirty,” and “The Hurt Locker.”

It is scheduled to be released August 4.
