Kim Kardashian responded to accusations Monday that she wore blackface in her latest promo shots for her cosmetics line.

“I would obviously never want to offend anyone,” the 36-year-old reality television star told The New York Times.  (RELATED: Kim Kardashian Accused Of Wearing Blackface In New Makeup Ad)

“I used an amazing photographer and a team of people,” she added. “I was really tan when we shot the images and it might be that the contrast was off. But I showed the image to many people, to many in the business. No one brought that to our attention. No one mentioned it.”

“Of course, I have the utmost respect for why people might feel the way they did,” she continued. “But we made the necessary changes to that photo and the rest of the photos. We saw the problem, and we adapted and changed right away. Definitely I have learned from it.”

Last week, the “Keeping Up With The Kardashian” star posted a picture on Twitter and Instagram of her wearing a taupe colored workout bra and looking extremely tan to promote her beauty line KKW and the “Creme Contour and Highlight kit.” Almost immediately after the photo surfaced, people noticed how much darker Kardashian’s skin tone looked and accused her of wearing blackface.

In the newer shots shared on Instagram, the reality star’s skin tone appears to be much lighter.
