Danica Patrick is set to compete in the Toyota/Save Mart 350 in Sonoma, Ca., which spans from June 23-25.

This course will present a particularly exciting race to watch because it includes both left and right turns. On her official website, Patrick said that road-course racing is not something she does very often, but enjoys the added entertainment from the cars struggling to handle it. “I feel like I have to psyche myself up a little bit in my approach about being aggressive and hitting the curbs and the ‘it doesn’t have to be pretty, it just has to be fast’ kind of attitude,” Patrick said. “But it’s fun.”

Patrick has competed in Sonoma before, but the course configuration for Sunday is different than the ones she’s driven on before.

Here are some photos of Patrick over the years creating a legacy as a strong female racecar driver in a male-dominated field.
