UFC superstar Conor McGregor explained his comments on race Friday morning.
McGregor said at a press conference, “Don’t they know I’m half black. I’m black from the belly button down.”

Those comments had some people stirred up, but the Irish-born fighter brushed aside criticism indicating it was only meant to be taken as a joke.
“It doesn’t really sit well with me. I’ve very multicultural. I’m a very multicultural individual. I don’t have any ill feelings towards anyone. I don’t even see color,” McGregor explained.
He also added, “I just wanted to play with it and address it in my own little way. It’s stupid and it’s ridiculous is basically what I was getting at.”

Things said during fight press conferences are meant to be over-the-top and outlandish. That’s how people get drawn in and the fight gets hyped. At the pace this hype train is going, it’s going to be a wild fight between these two.
