The investigation is still ongoing, and should wrap up in the next few weeks, but it sounds like there’s a “growing sense” that it will result in a suspension for the Dallas Cowboys star player, according to ESPN.

“I think that Zeke Elliott is bracing for a short suspension here in the coming weeks,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Friday.

The domestic violence charge comes from a 20-year-old woman who claims that Elliott assaulted her in Columbus, Ohio, while they were sitting in her car last year. Four witnesses from the alleged incident said they didn’t see anything that would qualify as assault and Elliott was never charged with any crime.

The young Cowboys star is entering his second year in the NFL after an incredible rookie season. He recorded close to 2,000 rushing yards, and 16 touchdowns on the season.
