No, Anna Kournikova was not the best tennis player to ever take the grass courts, but she just might be the best-looking to ever do so.

The Russian athlete never won a singles title during her professional tennis career, but there’s a reason fans of the sport still remember her.

The beautiful blonde captured the attention of the sports world towards the end of her teenage years when she played her best tennis. Kournikova climbed as high as No. 8 in the female tennis rankings during the peak of her career. Although she never claimed a singles title, she made it to the semi-finals of Wimbledon in 1997 and won the Australian Open doubles with Martina Hingis in 1999 and then again in 2002.

Anna’s career, although not particularly promising, was cut short in 2004 due to injuries. Despite her short-lived career on the court, she is still one of the most popular women to ever play the game and these photos will make you remember why.
