Sunday night featured another great episode of “Game of Thrones,” and as usual the internet had to find something to overreact to.

The second episode of season seven featured a long-awaited sex scene between characters Missandei and Greyworm, who is a eunuch. The sex scene, which can be found on HBOGO for those who are interested, was brewing for years and actually is extremely relevant to the plot. This is more than can be said about most sex scenes in modern day entertainment. That’s as much and as little as should be read into this plot point.

However, the internet had plenty of takes on the situation and they didn’t disappoint. Mostly, they focused on how “Game of Thrones” hates women and it’s time for feminism to take over.

From Refinery29:

This decision gives the queen’s advisor the chance to undo her own dress, proving to Grey Worm she’s choosing him, despite his status as a eunuch. Grey Worm continues to allow Missandei to drive the action, as she pulls off the Unsullied warrior’s shirt. In the lead up to the hookup, Grey Worm barely moves because he’s desperate to understand what, exactly, Missandei actually wants.

Once Missandei and Grey Worm actually start having sex, the scene couldn’t be more woman-focused.

From HuffPost:

Missandei looks Grey Worm in the eye and tells him she wants to see him. Grey Worm ― completely and utterly vulnerable ― concedes to Missandei and the two former slaves finally make love with full ownership of their bodies.

The scene is refreshing for a show that time and time again has used sex as a weapon, almost always wielded by sadistic men. “GoT” fans saw two characters having sex while communicating their feelings to one another.  While this scene shouldn’t be an anomaly for a show that’s been on air for seven years, it was.

Here’s to hoping “GoT” fans get more scenes like this one in the show’s last two seasons.

From The Independent:

Game of Thrones has received plenty of criticism for its sex scenes, many of which have been violent and non-consensual.

Hot takes should be left to the experts, and people should focus more on enjoying the show than lame critiques about sex scenes. I guess this is why we can’t have nice things anymore.

A simple sex scene that advances the plot in “Game of Thrones” is now under a microscope. Imagine how big of a loser somebody must be to watch a sex scene and the first thing that comes to mind is feminism empowerment. If you are thinking about feminism and fictional sexual actions during “Game of Thrones” then I have some serious questions about your mental stability.

It’s a badass show with plenty of action. How dumb do you have to be to believe there are no strong female characters?

One of the main characters, and very likely winner of the throne, is Daenerys Targaryen. Thanks to the internet for now trying to ruin one of the greatest shows to ever hit television. Outstanding work by everybody.

Now please excuse me because I have to get back to watching these characters kill each other for a shot at the Iron Throne.
