Zion Williamson is quickly becoming one of the most talked about basketball players in America, and it’s for good reason.

Williamson started getting noticed about a year when his highlight reel dunks would seem to go viral every few weeks. The South Carolina-native currently holds offers from Kentucky, Duke, North Carolina and Kansas.

With all the noise the Ball brothers have been making, it’s easy for Williamson to get ignored, but he appears by all accounts to be a future NBA player. At 6’7″ he is a dominating force all over the court.

It’s easy in America these days to hype up athletes, and forget that they’re teenagers. It happens all the time in football. “Experts” build these kids up in unrealistic ways, and then if it heads south they’re tossed aside.

So, it’s important to make the distinction here. Williamson is a freak athlete and awesome ball player, but he’s still only a teenager. Hopefully it all works out for him and we’ll be able to enjoy his highlights in college and beyond.
