Conor McGregor might have put a beatdown on boxing star Paul Malignaggi during a recent sparring session.

Malignaggi has a career boxing record of 36-8, but photos of surfaced online appearing to show him getting worked by McGregor.

A pair of photos showed up on Twitter of the Irish-born fighter training, one of which shows Malignaggi on his back as McGregor looks overtop him.

Another photo surfaced on Instagram, and it shows McGregor’s fist getting intimate with Malignaggi’s face.

Malignaggi has denied that he took the beating as shown in the photos, and posted a vague description of his side of the story, which revealed nearly nothing to clear the air. In fact, it left the door open for many more questions.

What actually happened in the boxing ring between these two might never be truly known, but the photos certainly show that McGregor got the best of him a few times.

That’s bad news for Floyd Mayweather. Nobody thought McGregor would be good enough to hang with any solid boxer. However, it’s a true game changer if he’s landing punches and knocking down Malignaggi.

Tune in August 26 to find out of McGregor has what it takes to beat Mayweather.
