The daughter of Vladimir Putin’s press secretary may not be the best public speaker, but she is pretty easy on the eyes.
Yelizaveta, who goes by Lisa, is the daughter of Vladimir Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov. The 19-year-old socialite is reportedly easing into a role in Russian politics, but her most recent public appearance has been met with backlash. (SLIDESHOW: 10 Russians Worth Colluding With)
Peskov recently visited a Crimean shipyard where she tried to deliver a speech on behalf of the pro-Kremlin lobby group, Avanti, on an industry that she apparently knows nothing about, according to The Times.
“I don’t know a single person who would even imagine that there are people who build ships,” Peskova said during a speech at a press conference following her visit. She also said that “shipbuilding is not something to be ashamed of.”
It’s not exactly surprising that the teenage socialite wasn’t able to relate to the shipyard workers in her ill-informed remarks. And while she might not have the skillset or the knowledge to offer business advice to the working class, at least she was a sight for sore eyes.
