The New England Patriots are still riding high after their historic Super Bowl comeback, and now they’ll be riding in style.
The Patriots just became the first franchise in NFL history to get its own private plane for team travel, ESPN reported Wednesday morning. Just like they have a backup for the ever reliable Tom Brady, they bought a backup plane, just in case the first one gets overworked.

The storied franchise purchased two 767 Boeing wide-body jets during the offseason and reconstructed the seating with all first-class seats. At least one of the two planes features the Patriots’ logo along the side as well as the five Lombardi trophies on the tail.
The Patriots tweeted out a photo of their custom-designed planes on Tuesday, which their calling “airkrafts”–a clear nod to team owner Robert Kraft.

The Patriots’ new planes cost anywhere between $5 million and $65 million, according to ESPN’s Darren Rovell. However, a brand-new plane can cost up to $200 million.
NFL teams typically charter regular commercial airline planes for their away games, but with the rising costs of commercial flights, the Patriots newest purchase is not a bad move.
The defending Super Bowl champions aren’t keeping their private planes all to themselves, though. The two Boeing 767s will be rented out during the season when the team doesn’t need them, for those who want to know what it’s like to fly like a New England Patriot.
