The first full trailer was released Tuesday morning for the upcoming Jessica Chastain film “Molly’s Game.”

The plot of the film, according to IMDB, is, “The true story of an Olympic-class skier who ran the world’s most exclusive high-stakes poker game and became an FBI target. Her players included movie stars, business titans and unbeknownst to her, the Russian mob.”

The film also stars Idris Elba, Michael Cera and Kevin Costner.

This movie looks lit. I’d never heard of Molly Bloom prior to this movie, but I had heard the whispers of some of these high stakes games and knew they were true. I remember sitting in an Orlando penthouse hotel room several years ago with a man who had taken more than $250,000 off of an NBA superstar only a few days prior. He told me his games were protected by men with automatic weapons, and he was joking. NBA players and wealthy Texas oilmen had money to lose, they’re not great at poker, and this guy was more than willing to take it off of their hands. The whole world of secret gambling was incredible to me.

It’s situations like these that make secret poker games so interesting. Molly Bloom, who Chastain portrays, sounds like she was the kingpin of these secret games before her downfall. I will absolutely be seeing this movie, and I hope it lives up to what I imagine these secret games are like.

In the meantime, I’ll stick to my small wager games and let other people bet $100,000 a hand.
