Mariah Carey stripped down to little more than fish net tights and black underwear as she posed topless for her latest spread in Paper magazine.

The 48-year-old singer bares all in the cover shot shared Monday of the upcoming magazine issue. In the shot, Carey uses long curly hair to cover her chest with black and teal body jewelry, tights, black gloves and briefs. In an interview for the New York Post published Monday, Carey said she’s always had “low self-esteem.”

“I just feel like I am a regular human being and I deserve the same respect as anybody else,” Carey explained. “I have always had low self-esteem, and people do not recognize that. I can’t measure what type of respect I deserve –I really can’t.”

“Growing up different, being biracial, having the whole thing where I did not know if I fit in . . . That is why music became such a big part of my life, because it helped me overcome those issues,” she added. “Sometimes it is hard to let your guard down.”
