Alabama defensive tackle Raekwon Davis was shot early Sunday morning.
Davis is believed to have been hit from a stray bullet while standing outside of a bar in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, according to the Tuscaloosa News. The injury is not believed to serious, and coach Nick Saban told the media, “Our concern at this time is for Raekwon and his health. While this does not appear to be a serious medical situation, Raekwon is still being evaluated.”
Not a great look for Alabama’s starting defensive tackle to take a bullet to the leg less than a week before playing third-ranked Florida State. How is there a scenario where Saban’s players are at the bars in the early hours during a game week? Saban needs to put an end to that immediately. Davis just needs to be smarter than being in potentially dangerous situations, especially during the season.
On a slightly different note, Alabama’s line for the game right now is set at -7, and really good defensive players are generally worth a point in the spread. It’s likely the line could drop to -6 for Alabama thanks to Davis getting shot. I’d hate to profit off of somebody getting shot in the leg, but might not be the worst idea to throw some money down on Alabama if the spread drops.
