Just before the opening match of the U.S. Open between Maria Sharapova and Simona Halep on Monday night, another star stepped onto the court to get the crowd fired up.

Country music star Shania Twain turned the court at Arthur Ashe Stadium into a stage to get the tournament started performing some of her old hits along with several songs from her new album, “Now.”

Twain started the night off with her smash hit “That Don’t Impress Me Much” and also performed “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!” before going on to give her fans a glimpse of some soon-to-be hits from her upcoming album. (SLIDESHOW: Shania Twain Is Looking Better Than Ever For Her Comeback)

Monday also happened to be Twain’s 52nd birthday and she seemed excited to spend it performing at the opening ceremony. Before she turned the tennis stage into a catwalk, the country star shared her excitement on Twitter.

“It’s @usopen day, I can’t wait to perform. What a way to spend my birthday!”

“Now” is scheduled to be released on Sept. 29 followed by a comeback tour for the country music star’s big return.
