I’m Burning Through Money Gambling On Football. Not A Great Start

My football gambling is off to a horrific start.

We’re two weeks into college football and one week into the NFL season, and I couldn’t be off to a worse start. Now, I’m 5-5 in my picks that I’m giving you guys. That’s not terrible, but it’s also not the greatest.

However, I’ve gambled a lot more than just the 10 picks I’ve given the loyal readers, which again, are sitting exactly at .500 right now. I look forward to football season all year long. I get excited because I love football and because I love gambling.

Historically speaking, I make a lot of money gambling (I get paid in beer in case the IRS starts snooping around), but the same can’t be said through the first two weeks of September.

I got absolutely crushed when I took Ohio State -7 vs. Oklahoma, Florida State +7.5 vs. Alabama, the Los Angeles Chargers on the money line vs. the Denver Broncos and the Seattle Seahawks on the money line vs. the Green Bay Packers. If it weren’t for the Detroit Lions beating the Arizona Cardinals, I might be so deep in the hole, a comeback might not be possible.

The good news is the season is long. I’m setting myself up for a massive comeback story, and we all love a great comeback story. If I’m able to pull this comeback off, it’ll make America look like the favored team in the Miracle on Ice.

Maybe I should just stick to the picks I give the audience. At least then I’d be splitting even at the current moment. Then again, nobody ever scored the hottest woman at the bar by playing it safe. Sometimes you just have to load up and shoot for the moon.
