PHOTOS: Belgian Model Vows To Keep Posing Nude In Countries That Suppress Women
Marisa Papen said her arrest for posing nude in Egypt won’t stop her from doing it again in countries where woman are suppressed.
It’s a “yell for freedom,” she says.
“Posing by the West Bank Wall in Palestine would be amazing. It’s a yell for freedom,” the 25-year-old Belgian model told The Sun Online Wednesday. “I want to go back to a time when women were queens.”
In April, Papen was jailed for a night in Egypt for posing naked during a photo shoot at the Karnak Temple in Luxor. (RELATED: This Playboy Model Managed To Piss Off An Entire Country With One Photo)
“That’s why I want to go to all these countries were women are suppressed,” she added. “Like I said it’s a yell for freedom and I want them to see my message. The thing is with my stories I’m trying to use my nudity and use my body to really show and make people think and spread a broader message.”
“It’s not just about being naked its more about being free,” she continued. “I’m really fascinated by countries where women are suppressed and how it’s still possible in the 21st century. But I’m also interested in tribes who are still living the way we used to live hundreds of years ago in the Congo and Ethiopia.” Adding, she hopes her next stops will be in Iran, Iraq and Yemen.
“My projects are always with a message of freedom not attacking anyone,” the Belgian beauty shared. “I know many people feel attacked but that’s not what I’m trying to do.”
