Kyrie Irving Has Fired Up The Flat Earth Crowd Again

Boston Celtics player Kyrie Irving may still think the earth is flat, judging by his conduct in a recent interview.

During Celtics Media Day Monday, he gave an interview with “Toucher & Rich” to discuss the upcoming season, but mostly to address the comments he made last February about the earth being flat.

For some background, in February Kyrie gave an interview and said:

The earth is flat. I think you need to do research on it. It’s right in front of our faces. They lie to us. If you really think about it from a landscape, of the way we move…can you really think of us rotating around the sun?

These comments pretty much broke the internet. And I was firmly in the camp that believed Kyrie was just messing with everyone. Obviously nobody thinks the earth is flat in 2017.

But then he gave this interview yesterday and it made me think that maybe he really is a flat earth truther. He stated the following:

All I want to do is be able to have that open conversation…It was all an exploitation tactic. It literally spun the world…into a frenzy and proved exactly what I thought it would do in terms of how all this works. It created a division, or, literally stand up there and let all these people threw tomatoes at me, or have somebody think I’m somehow a different intellectual person because I believe that the Earth is flat and you think the world is round. It created exactly that…

It became like, because I think different, does that knock my intellectual capacity or the fact that I can think different things than you?

For a flat earther, Kyrie seems to have a pretty good grasp on the earth’s rotation, saying he “spun the world” and all.

But seriously — Kyrie wants to have an open conversation about the earth being flat. If the NFL wasn’t melting down over Week 3 anthem protesting drama and Lebron wasn’t busy calling Trump a bum, more people would probably be jumping on this.

But hey, it’s 2017. It’s Week 4 in football. Some people suddenly agree with the words coming out of Goodell’s mouth and the Bears actually won a game. What’s a little flat earther theory for good measure?
