Having A Shark Latched To Your Stomach Doesn’t Seem Like A Good Time
A recent viral video has erased any doubt about whether or not getting attacked by a shark would be enjoyable.
Ervin McCarty just wanted to do some fishing, but instead a small shark latched onto his stomach, according to News 4 Jax.
News 4 Jax reported in part:
He said it was quite the struggle — no matter what, the shark would not let go. The shark stayed on his stomach for about 30 minutes and it even tried to pull him under water.
“Hold him still! Hold him still! Lay down,” a woman can be heard saying in the background of the video. “Come on! Stab him or something.”
The video recorded on a fishing boat a few miles off the coast of Marathon shows a 2-3 foot nursing shark latched onto Ervin’s stomach.
“Get the damn thing off of me!” Ervin exclaims.
Now he’s got a scar and quite the fish story — but at least this one has video to prove it.
The video is very bloody and graphic, so proceed with caution.
You can safely assume going fishing and ending up with a massive shark bite is not how Ervin wanted to spend his time.
Fishing is about spending some time with the guys, having a couple cold drinks, catching some big fish, and rehashing old stories. It’s not about getting bloodied up by some beast from the ocean. That’s not what fishing is about at all.
Having said all of that, there’s not a guy on this planet who wouldn’t trade a scar in return for an incredible story. If I had a shark bite scar, I’d remind people at every available opportunity. Well worth getting a quick shark bite.
