A number of NFL players are still choosing to kneel for the national anthem, but Jason Peters of the Philadelphia Eagles clearly has too much respect for veterans to do that.

The Eagles offensive tackle took a moment ahead of their game against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday to greet a veteran in the stands, who lost his leg in Afghanistan. The fan got Peters attention by holding up his prosthetic leg which Peters signed for him before returning to the field.

Several videos that captured the special moment circulated around social media on Monday morning. One of them, shared by a Philadelphia-based sports reporter, revealed that the former marine referred to Peters gesture as “one of the greatest moments” of his life.

This is an admirable move from an NFL player during a time when many of his fellow athletes are taking part in the national anthem protests around the league.

The Eagles defeated the Charges by a score of 26-24 at the Chargers home stadium that mostly consisted of Eagles fans on Sunday. The Philadelphia team will face the Arizona Cardinals at home next Sunday.
