Week four of the NFL season is behind us following the Kansas City Chiefs win over the Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football.

Here are my four biggest observations from the latest week of the NFL.

1) Are the Lions for real?

The Detroit Lions should be 4-0 right now, but aren’t thanks to some lovely NFL rules that nobody even knew existed. They’re currently sitting at 3-1 after a win against Minnesota this past week. Their defense looks really good, Matthew Stafford has been outstanding and they might be the best team in the NFC North right now. Did anybody think that would happen during the offseason?

2) It looks like the anthem protests will be here for a little bit longer.

It looked like not a lot of players would protest during week four. Only 11 players did through the first slate of games. That all changed when half of the San Francisco 49ers team took a knee. I’d be willing to bet good money that these protests will be around for at least a little bit longer.

3) Deshaun Watson is incredible.

I said before the draft that Watson should be the top overall pick. The guy was a superstar at Clemson, found ways to win games no matter what and always got the job done. I’ll take a guy like Watson over anybody who has “all the right skills” on paper. Well, it looks like I was right because Watson is lighting up NFL defenses for the Texans. Every GM who passed on him and needed a quarterback should be forced to watch his highlights daily so they all know how stupid they are.

4) The Packers seem like they’re back to normal.

Green Bay might have a ton of injuries right now, but they’re still winning games. That’s a scary sign for everybody else in the NFC. Rodgers has the offense humming. I can’t wait to watch Detroit and the Packers square off. It should be great football.
