The University of Wisconsin will honor convicted woman beater and washed up NFL player Montee Ball this coming weekend when they play Purdue.

The football team announced the news Tuesday morning with a Tweet and an incredibly long article praising Ball.

It’s weird that the attached article is nearly a thousand words long, and there’s not a single reference to the fact Ball was convicted and served time on charges stemming from multiple domestic violence incidents.

This is an unacceptable move from the University of Wisconsin. I was asked a couple years ago if there was anything that could get myself to cut off my support for the Badgers. I told the person that if the school ever honored Montee Ball again that could do it.

My comments were made several years ago, and I’m not going to stop supporting my school. Having said that, this is incredibly embarrassing for a program that prides itself on doing things the right way. There is no excuse to have a man convicted of violent crimes walking the sidelines.

Sad day for the university that I love.
