One graphic is all anybody needs to see to feel the pain felt by Cleveland sports fans for decades.

“Since 1999, the Indians are 3-17 (.150) in potential series-clinching games and the Browns are 88-205 (.300) in all games,” reads a graphic tweeted out by reporter Ro Parish following the Indians loss to the New York Yankees Wednesday night.

Being a Cleveland fan isn’t easy. Even the Cavaliers winning the 2016 NBA championship a couple years ago doesn’t seem to be enough to bring joy to the depressed place.

I went to Cleveland for the first time (and likely last time) for the RNC in 2016. It’s an interesting city. Lots of hard working, blue-collar workers who love sports.

Toughness is engrained in their attitudes, and it’s also engrained in the sports teams in the city. They truly do deserve much better than the garbage they’ve had to deal with for years, especially with the Browns.
