Hey, NFL, take note.
In case you’ve forgotten, this is how you show respect for your country and its flag.
Three roofers from Maine were working near Waterville High School’s football stadium when they heard the national anthem being played. Without hesitation, they put down their tools and stood for the song.
Michelle Lyons Cossar caught the moment on camera and uploaded it to Facebook.
“I just thought the world could use a little more of that right now,” she said.

The photo is captioned, “Standing for the National Anthem at the Old Town Waterville football game today and from behind the stands we hear, ‘Hey, look! They aren’t kneeling.’ When I turn to see who said it, this is what I saw…three men roofing a house and respecting the flag.”
Since Cossar uploaded the photo to Facebook three days ago, the post has been shared more than 1,700 times and gotten close to 1,000 likes.
Cossar says the three men are Dwayne Harrison, Danny Thyng, and James Scruggs. They haven’t commented directly on the photo, but my guess is they’d just say they were doing what was right. Plain and simple as that.
