Tiger Woods has been cleared to return to golf just six months after undergoing fusion surgery on his lower back.

The news of Woods’ return comes from his agent, Mark Steinberg, who said Monday that the doctor who operated on Woods back in April has cleared him to return to the game with no restrictions, ESPN reports.

Despite the fact that the doctor gave him the green light to play, Woods’ previous experiences with injury seem to have made him wary of getting back into the swing of things.

“He got a nice report and is allowed to proceed,” Steinberg said. “He can do as much as he needs to do. Tiger is going to take this very, very slowly. This is good, but he plans to do it the right way.”

Back in August, Woods got the go-ahead from his doctor to start pitching, and he has now progressed to full swings.

Steinberg said there is no time table as for when Woods will return to competition, and the 14-time major champion plans to take it day-by-day.
