Several country music stars took the stage at the CMT awards to honor and remember the victims of the horrific Las Vegas massacre.

“We’ve been tested beyond our worst nightmare these past few months. Heartbroken doesn’t even begin to describe how some of us feel. But we have proven time and again in this country that we have the power to overcome anything that threatens our way of life, or our freedom. We dedicate this night to you and everyone who has experienced loss or tragedy in the past few months,” Jason Aldean told the audience during the CMT awards show Wednesday night.

He was joined on stage by Keith Urban, Luke Bryan, Chris Stapleton and Florida Georgia Line.

Aldean was on stage during the Route 91 music festival when Stephen Paddock opened fire from the Mandalay Bay hotel, killing 58 people. Hundreds more were wounded in the shooting.

It’s always great to see people come together like this. Some might say words after tragedies don’t mean much, but they can often provide a little hope at the very least.
