Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers broke his collarbone in a loss to the Vikings on Sunday, and the injury is impacting much more than just Green Bay’s playoff chances.

According to a local ticket broker, retail ticket values for the Packers’ upcoming home game has already dropped at least 50 percent.

Speaking with Green Bay’s ABC affiliate, Travis Loftus, manager of Ticket King said, “A lot of people, they’re just saying they can’t make it to the game now, I am sure there’s some people that don’t want to go to the game because of what happened. We’re going to wait and see, because the team’s not out of it yet, they could still win, it’s not the end of the season yet, so the next two games will tell a lot of what might happen with the season with tickets.”

The lodging industry in Green Bay also has its concerns.

Area hotels have become accustomed to hosting football fans in January. With the Packers’ playoff chances now slim, instead of operating under full occupancy after the New Year, hotels may be begging for guest reservations.

“We’ve been spoiled a little bit but without a Packer game in January, it dramatically affects the budget for the hotel,” says Ron Sellers, manager of a local Hampton Inn.

Prior to the Aaron Rodgers injury, Las Vegas gave Green Bay 5-1 odds to win the Super Bowl. Post injury, their odds have plummeted all the way to 30-1.
