Colin Kaepernick has reportedly agreed to meet with a group of NFL owners and players next week when they continue their discussions on social issues that relate to the league.
The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback was reportedly invited to the last meeting and chose not to come, but he is expected to join in the conversation when they reconvene next week, according to a Yahoo Sports report.
“We look forward to him joining the conversation,” NFL spokesman Joe Lockhart said of Kaepernick on Wednesday.

Kaepernick started the national anthem protest at the beginning of the 2016-17 season in an attempt to protest police brutality and social injustice against black people in America. However, many Americans viewed it as a disrespectful act to the flag, the armed forces and the country they serve and protect.
The controversial quarterback opted out of his contract with the 49ers at the end of last year and has not been picked up by a team since. Kaepernick has since filed a grievance against the NFL under the belief that he was blackballed by team owners for his political beliefs.
